Methodology: how the matching works
AlpineCompare matches your profile with our partners' private bankers. The matching rests on your answers to the questionnaire and on what each banker declares: canton, expertise, clientele, languages. Here are the criteria used and how much each one weighs.
The matching criteria
Your amount
EliminatoryA banker whose declared minimum is above your amount (the midpoint of the range you chose) is never selected by the matching. A file close to the size they usually handle counts in their favour.
Your language
EliminatoryThe matching selects only bankers who speak your contact language.
Your situation
EliminatoryPrivate client or company, resident, moving in or cross-border commuter, « US person »: a banker who does not take on your situation is not shown.
Your project
Main criterionSale of a business, inheritance, retirement, moving to Switzerland… Bankers who declare they handle this kind of project come first, all the more if they declare having handled many.
Your needs and expectations
Main criterionThe services you look for (discretionary mandate, Lombard loan, estate planning…) are matched with each banker's declared specialities; your expectations (responsiveness, stability, clear explanations…) with the qualities they put forward.
Your canton
Strong preferenceWe favour bankers who meet clients in your canton, or in the one you are moving to. A banker who also meets by video is not penalised for distance.
The type of institution
PreferenceBank or independent wealth manager: a preference you stated orders the profiles, it excludes none.
How the order is set
The eliminatory criteria first remove the profiles that do not meet these conditions. Among the others, expertise counts the most, then your canton and your preferences. Also taken into account are the banker's declared availability (capacity, callback time) and the record of earlier introductions. On a tie, profiles rotate so requests are spread across our partners.
What never enters the matching
Neither AlpineCompare's remuneration nor any paid placement: no partner can buy a better place. Bankers get no rating; only what they declare and how it matches your request are shown.
A human check
Every partner banker fills in a profile; we check their institution's FINMA authorisation and their employment there; the rest of their profile is self-declared. Your contact details and answers go only to the bankers you send a request to, and to their institution; if no profile is shown to you, our team may propose a partner, chosen on the same criteria and named to you before anything is passed on.
How we are paid
The service is free for you: nothing is charged to you. AlpineCompare is paid by the partner institution (a private bank or an independent asset manager), under a business-introduction agreement with it, when a client it introduced signs a contract with that institution; no remuneration is due if no contract is signed. This remuneration plays no part in the selection of the profiles shown or in their order.
Only our partners' bankers can be proposed to you. Institutions without a partnership are described on the site in the same way as the others.
Data freshness
The information published on institutions is indicative: it may have changed since it was checked and must be confirmed with the institution concerned.
Sources
The institutions' official websites and annual reports, FINMA and supervisory-organisation registers, the institutions' own disclosures and profiles declared by partner bankers. Information on bankers is not exhaustively verified.
Find the private bankers who meet your criteria
The simulator helps you specify your profile to obtain a selection of private bankers from our partner institutions, with the option to be put in touch with one of them or to ask to be called back. Free for you (AlpineCompare is paid by the partner institution if you sign a contract with it).
